The shock of his sudden appearance jolted Nelly, causing her to spin around just as the doctor emerged from the door. She spoke to him, oblivious to the intruder who slipped into the ward unnoticed.

The video played, a mere glimpse into the unfolding mystery.

Thalia, with a hint of concern in her voice, informed Tony, “I’ve done a background check on him. It seems he has no direct involvement with your mother. It’s likely just an ordinary mental disorder.”

But Tony’s furrowed brows conveyed his unease. “I can’t shake this feeling. Nelly deliberately kept me away today. She must be hiding something.”

Thalia stared at him, her lips pursed in thought. “I wonder how accurate children’s intuition can be.”

Rolling his eyes, Tony scoffed at her remark. “By the way, can you set up a surveillance camera for Nelly’s ward on my phone? I want to be able to watch anytime.”

Thalia nodded in agreement. “Consider it done.”

Fingers flying over the keyboard, Thalia suddenly froze, her eyes narrowing as she stared at the screen. There was something she had noticed, something that captivated her attention.

“What’s wrong?” Tony leaned in, curiosity painting his face.

As his eyes fell upon the footage, a chill ran through his veins. The scene showed another encounter between Alpha Kilian, Lara, and Nelly, the hospital’s corridors becoming the stage for a tangled love affair.

Thalia cleared her throat, her voice strained. “Tony…”

“What?” His voice trembled, a mix of confusion and dread.

“Is it possible that Alpha Kilian is in love with your mother? Look at the way they gaze upon each other, with such tenderness,” Thalia remarked, her eyes fixed on the screen. “They could easily be the stars of a blockbuster movie. I wonder how beautiful their children would be.”

Tony was rendered speechless, his mind racing with disbelief.

Snatching the laptop from Thalia’s lap, he swiftly sent a link to his phone, connecting it to one of the surveillance cameras. With a resounding snap, he shut the laptop.

Thalia was not deterred, her mind still consumed by her revelation. “Hey, what are you doing? I’m not finished.”

Tony’s gaze bore into hers, a seriousness seeping into his voice. “If you want your reward, then be serious.”

Her eyes widened, caught off guard by his response. “I am serious.”

But in the next second, Thalia’s intense gaze studied Tony’s features. She carefully examined each side of his face, causing him to scowl uncomfortably. “What are you looking at? Is there something on my face?”

Thalia’s voice dripped with intrigue as she spoke enigmatically. “Don’t you find it uncanny how much you resemble Alpha Kilian? It’s as if you share a shady connection with him.”

Tony was left speechless, well aware that he was not the first to notice the resemblance. He had hoped to keep this secret hidden for as long as possible, but perhaps the time for truths was fast approaching.

Rallying himself, he regained control of the situation. “The more you stare, the more you’ll see,” Tony replied, taking the laptop back into his possession. “I’ll use this as leverage against Alpha Kilian.”

Thalia was dumbfounded, struggling to comprehend the magnitude of what she had stumbled upon. “You’re going to blackmail him?”

Tony’s words were filled with determination. “If it ensures my mother’s safety, then so be it.”

They locked eyes, a silent understanding passing between them.

“Has the news been leaked?” Tony inquired, his voice laced with urgency.

Thalia’s confidence was unwavering. “Guaranteed, it will be untraceable.”

Tony pondered for a moment before speaking again. “The killer should make their move soon. We just need to be patient.”

Thalia’s concern crept into her voice. “I’m worried that the clue we left is too cryptic. What if the killer doesn’t figure it out?”

Tony hesitated, a shadow of doubt flickering in his eyes. “How did you drop the lead?”

A triumphant smile graced Thalia’s lips. “The ambulance’s number plate. I selected photos that made it clear. If someone looks closely, they’ll find the hospital.”

Tony admired her cunning. “You’re smart, but let’s not underestimate our adversary.”

Thalia’s eyes sparkled with excitement, secret knowledge passing between them.

With his seatbelt secure, Tony looked at her. “Let’s go.”

“Where?”

“For a meal.”

Surprised, Thalia questioned his intentions. “Aren’t you going back to the hospital?”

Tony reclined lazily, a cocky grin on his face. “Later. I’m hungry now. Free lunch, courtesy of you.”

Thalia’s shock turned to amusement. “Is that how you ask for favors?”

But there was an unspoken understanding between them. Tony’s presence provided her with the opportunity to dig deeper into his secrets, to uncover the enigma that lay beneath his youthful exterior. And she was determined to seize that chance.

Knowing her thoughts, Tony smirked. This partnership was bound to be both thrilling and dangerous.
